Inspired by
70's and 80's punk, Hanover Saints goal is to play music with
heart, soul and conviction. Their songs cover a wide variety of
topics including family, community, friendship, loyalty, faith,
human rights, working class ethics, and solidarity. Hanover
Saints have always been a band "for the people, by the people."
We try to make everyone to feel welcome no matter what their
differences may be in an effort to better ourselves and an
attempt to achieve common ground and understanding. The stage is
not only ours but yours in the true spirit of punk rock.
THE STORY SO FAR...
Hanover
Saints formed in October, 2001 in Sacramento, CA. They were
started by Brian Faucett who had been collecting songs on his
four track recorder. Brian asked his friends, Wyman Harrel and
Justin Thomas to join the band and soon they began practicing.
Hanover released their first EP on their own label, Revolution
Ink Records. They quickly sent it to Facedown Records in
southern California and booked a west coast tour with The Deal
(Facedown) in December of 2001. After the tour wrapped up
Hanover Saints were asked to join Facedown Records. They hit the
studio immediately and began recording their debut album "TRUTH
RINGS OUT." The album was released during the summer (2002),
they added second guitarist Mark Spurgeon, and toured with label
mates One-21 and The Deal for six weeks across the United
States.
Once home, Justin had to leave the band in order to
finish school and Hanover pushed forward with the help of
several temporary bass players. During this time they became
good friends with another Sacramento band called the Whiskey
Rebels (GMM Records). They released a split CD with each other
and in December, 2002 they went on a West Coast tour together.
In March, 2003 Hanover Saints went on a short tour of the North
West and when they returned Mark decided to leave in order to
pursue his career.
It didn't take long before Hanover Saints acquired Sean and
Patrick Hills who had been in another local Sacramento band.
They immediately jumped into a three week U.S. tour and later
that summer they went on a six week North American tour
(including Canada) with their friends in Whiskey Rebels (GMM
Records) and Pressure Point (GMM Records). It was at this time
that an Australian label called Drug Bust Records released a
limited edition seven inch for the Hanover Saints.
When the band arrived home they hit studio to record
"BLOOD, GUTS, AND GLORY" which was released in May 2004 on
Facedown subsidiary, Strike First Records. The seven songs on
this release demonstrated their progression as songwriters and
foreshadowed even greater things to come. With a new full length
album in the works, 2005 promises to be Hanover Saints most
ambitious year ever.
